I find keeping up with training and regular life hard enough on it's own - the cross season in southern Ontario is short, but gets bigger each year - this year, there are 19 races to choose from! It's kind of overwhelming, generally in a way that I totally love.
This year, work is keeping me on my toes, and eating into the training time & energy reserves. Which is ok - I mean, I get paid to do one thing (my job), and I do one thing because I just love it (bike racing). At the end of the day, I have to keep up with the thing that pays the bills! Sometimes I don't have the energy or time to train, and I feel ok about it... sometimes I still try to cram it all in, but that typically just puts me deeper into a whole on the whole energy/time time.
I've had to reassess what I hope to get out of this season. I don't know if I've landed on final goals yet, but they're percolating in the back of my mind, and may sometime find their way here. Along with a race report from the most wicked awesome weekend of racing ever. Yes, ever!
