Albion OCup

A lot of "firsts" from this one!

- First OCup of the season for me (I skipped Mansfield in favour of a learn to RACE road clinic that turned into a learn to RIDE clinic. I cut my losses halfway through day two - I consider myself quite proficient at taking my waterbottle out of the cage without looking, don't need to ride in circles at 15km/h practicing, thanks.)

- First time getting to the start line and thinking "There's no reason I can't win"

- First time leading the women for the entire first lap, and then some. I am normally mid-pack at a mountain bike race, and I normally get passed by the fast older ladies who start two minutes back. This time, I was distinctly not mid-pack (yay!), and was not passed by any Master Sport women until partway through lap two.

- First time not getting lapped by the mega-fast DD.

- First first! Actually, first solo mountain bike podium ever! It was pretty exciting (though nerve-wracking, what with leading the whole race and not knowing what kind of gap I had), and I felt really smooth in the single track (that's actually another first for me, right there), and had all kinds of power on the double track (yeah, I know it's a boring part of the race course, but it really is where I kinda shine).
