a ride in the rain

I got ditched at the last minute by a new potential riding partner (note: not likely that I will be making much effort to ride with him again), and ended up riding on my own today. I do most of my training on my own, so it wasn't a big deal, but I was looking forward to having someone to push me a bit, to keep me from dogging it if I just didn't feel like working hard.

It was a bit drizzly when I left. Forecast was for showers - also not a big deal, I can handle a few showers. As I got out to Mississauga - basically the furthest point away from home - it started pouring. Not much I could do. If I stopped for a coffee, I probably wouldn't have had the fortitude to start again. I sucked it up and stayed on the bike. It was vaguely miserable, and I rolled home after 70km, frozen and soaked.

I'm glad I stuck with it, but I certainly hope it will be warmer tomorrow. Holiday Monday, and I'm planning on riding the testosterone-fest group ride.
